Porkchop was born in Gresham, OR in a hospital that no longer exists. And yes, Porkchop is his Christian name. Says so on his birth certificate. Growing up a music fanatic and dropping out of two colleges after majoring in keg stands and couch surfing, Porkchop found radio. Enrolling in the radio program at Mt. Hood Community College, Chop developed a love for broadcasting. From college, Porkchop found a gig at Portland rock station 101 KUFO doing weekends and then joined up with Craig “The Dogfaced Boy” to do nights. An involuntary move out of KUFO saw Chop head east to do nights on rocker WDZD in Myrtle Beach, SC for nearly a year before coming back to do afternoons with Dog again at KUFO.

 

In the summer of 2011 after a 4 month layoff, Porkchop made his way back into radio on sports talker 750 AM The Game in Portland. Chop was invited to leave his position in 2018.

 

After leaving radio and starting a career in real estate (and I’m around town if you want me to help you buy or sell your house) and art (yeah I also paint…not walls but canvas), Porkchop finds himself back behind the mic driving Longview/Kelso to work as the morning show host on Cookin’ Country 105.5, KUKN.

 

Porkchop enjoys the color blue, long walks on the beach enjoying a “Taster’s Choice” moment and chicken wings.
